1.) is that a functions inverses is mainly switching the inputs and outputs. For example,
X Y if that where my function, the inverse of that function would be instead of (1,3), it'd
1 3 be (3,1). so your outputs now become ur inputs and vise-versa!!!

3.) also in order to determine whether or not a function has an inverse, you should use the HORIZONTAL LINE TEST!!
4.)LOGARITHMS!!!!
an important rule is logb^x=n means b^n=x
Well i didnt understand alot about logs. like i wasnt sure if i should use the "ln" or if it wasnt even necessary. And all the rules can be pretty confusing!!!!

Excellent understanding of the inverses Jessica. Just remember it's not ONE function that is symmetrical about the y=x line, but TWO different functions that are reflected about the y=x line.
ReplyDeleteThe "ln x" is the SAME thing as log (base e) of x. You treat it like any other logarithm function. It helps solve the exponential e^x.
